Briony Kercheval, MAPS, BA (Psych), Grad Dip Sc (Psych), M.App.Psych (Comm)

Briony Kercheval is a registered psychologist, with full membership of the Australian Psychological Society. Briony’s work in the mental health field spans over 20 years and involves assessments and treatment plans, counselling (individuals and groups), research, policy writing and program development. Her experience covers working with both men and women across the lifespan, however the majority of her most recent work and research is in the field of women’s health and gender diversity.

Approach

Using a warm, client-centred approach when working with her clients to improve their health and wellbeing, Briony has a special interest in birth: pregnancy, the birthing experience and the postnatal stages of early parenting and beyond. Briony works from a feminist perspective that honours the unique experience of all women. Briony also welcomes work with people who are gender diverse and neurodiverse.

Briony’s research in the area of women’s mental health was recognised by the Australian Psychological Society at the completion of her Masters degree; she was awarded a prize for excellence.
