Therapy

Briony Kercheval is a Melbourne-based registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi).

Briony uses evidence-based psychological interventions to assist clients to improve their health and wellbeing, her work is bound by a code of strong professional ethics

Briony utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy and techniques of Mindfulness. The aim of therapy is to work with clients to develop rich and meaningful lives; this process often leads to symptom reduction and the development and maintenance of psychological health and wellbeing. 

Briony’s approach is affirming, client-centred and collaborative.  Empathy, respect and honesty are hallmarks of Briony’s approach to therapy.

Beyond her formal education and training, Briony’s work as a psychologist is further informed by her enthusiasm for food that nourishes the mind and body, physical activity and her practice in yoga and meditation.

Each appointment runs for 50 – 60 minutes and includes strategies that will assist clients to manage any distress between therapy sessions.
